2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 101 2nd Street, San Francisco, CA 94105, USA. When you visit the site, the host processes technically necessary data (such as IP address, date and time, the page requested and browser type) in server log files. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the website. Netlify keeps this data according to its own retention periods; details are in the Netlify privacy statement.

Netlify is based in the USA and participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Data transfers to Netlify are therefore based on the European Commission's adequacy decision for this framework (Art. 45 GDPR).

3. No cookies, no tracking

This website uses no cookies and no analytics or tracking tools, and loads no content from third parties. Fonts are served locally from this server.

If you switch the language (EN/DE), your choice is stored only in your browser's local storage so the site opens in the same language next time. This information is never sent to us, and you can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

4. Contact by email

If you email us, we process your details in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). The data is deleted once it is no longer needed for that purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.

5. Links to social networks

The website contains plain links to LinkedIn, YouTube and Facebook. No plugins are embedded; data is only transferred when you click a link and open the provider's page, where the provider's own privacy policy applies.

6. Software download

The installer of our software DeepQ Manuscript is provided via GitHub (GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you click the download button, your browser connects directly to GitHub, which processes your IP address and technical data under its own privacy statement. GitHub participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

7. Buying a licence online

PayPal. Payments are processed by PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg. The PayPal payment button is loaded only after you click “Continue to payment”; from then on PayPal processes your data, may set cookies, and may perform a credit check for some payment methods, under its own privacy statement. We receive from PayPal your name, email address and the transaction details. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract).

Licence and receipt by email. We send your licence key and receipt with the email service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA; sending via servers in the EU region, Ireland). Resend processes your email address and the email content on our behalf. Resend is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; transfers to the USA are based on the European Commission's adequacy decision (Art. 45 GDPR). Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Order records. For each order we store the name on the licence, your email address, the PayPal transaction number, the licence key and the time of your consent, on our hosting provider Netlify. We keep these records as long as tax and commercial law requires (in Germany up to 10 years), and use them only to deliver your licence, answer your questions and meet our legal obligations. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21 GDPR). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA).
